Summer is officially over but the rainy season did not deter SCTEX, the Subic -Clark-Tarlac Expressway andNLEX, the Northern Luzon Expressway from staging their annual NLEX Tara Na Sa Nortetourism fair.
The NLEX Tara Na SaNorte Tourism and Travel Fair was held on July 21 up to July 23 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Ayala Center Makati. NLEX Corporation President Rodrigo Franco was there to welcome guests and officially open the fair.
Senator Cynthia Villar, Head of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food was a special guest of honor at the fair. She underscored the potentials of farm tourism to create livelihood.
NLEX President Rod Franco cited the vast farmlands in the North which are rich in agri-tourism opportunities for recreational and educational adventures for local and foreign tourists. These destinations, he said, can be reached faster, smoother and more convenient with the seamless road network provided by NLEX-SCTEX.
The over 90 exhibitors were comprised of hotels, resorts, travel agencies, tour organizers and traders. Guests were delighted to taste and purchase regional food products as well as unique souvenirs and crafts. The provinces of Aurora, Bataan, the Cordilleras, Banaue, Bulacan, Tarlac, Baguio, Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Pangasinan were represented in the travel fair along with their regional specialties.
